More accounts and settings

Everything here happens inside the client. Open the settings view:

:settings

Move between its tabs with Tab / Shift+Tab, and close it with Esc.

Add a second account

On the Accounts tab, press A and answer the same questions the wizard asked. Type the e-mail address, then press Ctrl+D and Antiphon looks the servers up for you, filling the IMAP and SMTP rows from the provider's published autoconfig; fill in whatever it could not find, and Ctrl+S saves. On save, the account appears in the sidebar with its own folders and syncs on the next pass. The form's account type row also covers Microsoft 365 and Google, which sign in with OAuth instead of a password; see accounts.

Switch scope from the list:

Key Scope
G U unified (everything)
G T / G Shift+T next / previous account
G 1G 9 account by number

Each account sends as itself. A reply goes out from the identity it was delivered to; in a fresh compose, cycle the From field with Left / Right. To add aliases, a signature or per-identity PGP later, press E on the account and open its identities row (see the settings view).

Tune the essentials

On the Essentials tab, edit each setting in place with H / L (or Enter to advance):

  • theme: cycles live.
  • sync interval and idle: pushed to the running daemon as you change them.
  • reading pane, list rows, sidebar width: shape the main screen.

Changes are written straight to your config file, so hand-editing and the settings view stay in sync. Full detail, including what account removal deletes, is in the settings view.

Rename folders

To show a provider's INBOX/Receipts 2026 as receipts: on the Folders tab, select it, press Enter, type the alias, and Enter again. The alias works anywhere you type a folder name, e.g.:

:move receipts

See accounts for the on-disk form.
